Challenge
The 100th anniversary logo for the Elsinore Theatre needed to celebrate a century of history while remaining simple, recognizable, and versatile across both digital and physical applications. Key requirements included incorporating “Elsinore Theatre” using the organization’s existing typeface, featuring “100 Years” or “100th Anniversary,” and creating a design that felt uniquely connected to the theatre’s identity and legacy.
Solution
My solution centered around a neatly stacked composition emphasizing “100” while containing the typography within a ticket-shaped form. The ticket shape references traditional theatre admission tickets, reflects the wide range of events hosted by the Elsinore, and creates a clean silhouette that translates effectively across merchandise and promotional materials. To strengthen the connection to the theatre itself, I incorporated elements inspired by the building’s iconic crown-shaped architecture.
The final logo balances heritage and simplicity, creating an anniversary mark that feels distinctive to the Elsinore while remaining highly functional across applications.
